Suggestion – Gorilla Warfare EP
Apr 17th, 2009 | By Thomas Garcia | Category: CD ReleasesI met these..er, “guys” at the Brass Mug a few weeks ago. I wasn’t sure what to do. Perhaps the answer comfortably sits with a visit to Planet Pu-C, Tampa-based Suggestion’s reported home world. Guitarist Alin, an alien DNA experiment gone awry, insists that Suggestion’s new five song CD Gorilla Warfare is, indeed, reminiscent of crushing rebellious countenance savored with sanguine metal rhythms and riffs. The guitars remind me of Paul Di’anno-era Iron Maiden with plenty of high-end crunch to spare. Songs like “Misanthropic Lycanthrope” and my personal favorite “It Might be a Chicken.” With an image crossed between The Residents, Mushroomhead, Gwar, and Battle for the Planet of the Apes, it is imperative to witness these Bay Area creative geniuses first hand. This is a live show you must, for sanity’s sake, investigate. However, it is “suggested” that rebel Pu-C scientist Pu-Ci forever lurks in the musical shadows…
